Shivian Morgan

What are your pronouns?
They / Them, thanks for asking!

What type of work experiences did you have prior to joining tms?
I’ve been creating user interfaces my whole life, starting with the website for Platz Wholesale Florist — a company my dad worked for. I was still in high school at the time! I love solving the ever-changing problem of “how can I make the user happy?” Since college I’ve been a UI/UX designer for Walgreens, Abelson Taylor, and Sears!

What’s in your headphones currently?
Me and White Supremacy: Combat Racism, Change the World, and Become a Good Ancestor

Describe tms in one word.
Evolving

During your time at tms, what work are you most proud of?
How to pick?! McDonald’s MONOPOLY is always such a delight; evolving T-Mobile Tuesdays remains an invigorating challenge; and Trick. Treat. Win! was such a leap forward for McDonald’s!

What would the title of your autobiography be?
It’s ALWAYS been Hot Pink: a Queer Memoir of Radical Self-Love

Which person (dead or alive) would you most like to be stuck in an elevator with and why?
Um … myself. Not for vanity or pride, but because I have never experienced myself from the outside before. None of us have. Mindfullness can only get us so far. To experience one’s own being from an external perspective would be a wholly unique adventure, and utterly impossible to turn down.

What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve been given?
Open and transparent communication among all employees is key to a healthy business.

What’s your current side hustle?
Engaging with my local queer community to create sanctuary spaces, by queers for queers.

Even today, queer people are an underserved community, with many being homeless or otherwise displaced by cis-het society. I support numerous queer sanctuaries around the world that provide a safe haven for members of our community. These spaces provide new opportunities to individuals that society has abandoned and help them get back on their feet.

By leveraging my privilege I’m able to help these communities sustain their members and thrive going forward. If you’re interested in offering your support, please reach out Shivian.Morgan@tmsw.com!
